چکیده

Objective: Polygonatum (Asparagaceae) is a rhizomatous monocotyledon genus that distributed in the temperate regions of Northern Hemisphere. The represented by 5 species Turkey (P. glaberrimum, P. latifolium, multiflorum, verticillatum and orientale). Karyological, palynological, phylogenic, chemotaxonomical some anatomical studies have been carried out previously. However, detailed features scape, rhizome root grown not examined before so aim this study to determine their characteristics. Also, compares with each other according obtained characteristics comparing them previous studies. Materials Methods: Investigations were on fresh material collected from wild habitats during July 2009- 2012 Turkey. Cross-sections roots cut hand, photographs taken under light microscope, structures drawn detail an isograph pen. Results: monocotyledones features. Significant differences between observed, such as number costas xylem arms types vascular bundle rhizome. compared Conclusion: determined will be useful at level well family level. Hence data contribute literature.
